Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald, Chief Justice of Nova Scotia, will be unable to act on July 25, 2014 and on August 26 and 27, 2014, and it is therefore necessary that other persons be appointed Administrator for those periods;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective July 25, 2014;

(b) appoints the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective July 25, 2014;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective July 26, 2014;

(d) appoints the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective July 26, 2014;

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective August 26, 2014;

(f) appoints the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective August 26, 2014;

(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective August 28, 2014;

(h) appoints the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective August 28, 2014.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald, juge en chef de la Nouvelle-Écosse, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions le 25 juillet 2014 et les 26 et 27 août 2014 et qu’il est donc nécessaire que d’autres personnes soient nommées administrateurs pour ces périodes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 25 juillet 2014;

b) nomme l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 25 juillet 2014;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 26 juillet 2014;

d) nomme l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 26 juillet 2014;

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 26 août 2014;

f) nomme l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 26 août 2014;

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 28 août 2014;

h) nomme l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 28 août 2014.
