His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to section 56 of the Judges Act and Order in Council and P.C. 2014-278 of March 14, 2014:

(a)   reappoints the Honourable Murray Sinclair of Winnipeg, Manitoba, a judge of the Queen’s Bench of Manitoba, as Commissioner of the Indian Residential Schools Truth and Reconciliation Commission, to hold office during good behaviour for a term of one year; and

(b)   re-designates the Honourable Murray Sinclair as Chairperson of the Indian Residential Schools Truth and Reconciliation Commission;

effective July 1, 2014.

Sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu de l’article 56 de la Loi sur les juges et du décret C.P. 2014-278 du 14 mars 2014, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

(a)   renouvelle le mandat de l’honorable Murray Sinclair, de Winnipeg (Manitoba), juge de la Cour du Banc de la Reine du Manitoba, à titre de commissaire de la Commission de vérité et de réconciliation relative aux pensionnats indiens, à titre inamovible, pour une période d’un an;

(b)   renouvelle la désignation de l’honorable Murray Sinclair à titre de président de la Commission de vérité et de réconciliation relative aux pensionnats indiens.

Ce décret prend effet le 1^er juillet 2014.
