Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald, Chief Justice of Nova Scotia, will be unable to act from May 20 to May 22, 2014, inclusive and from May 26 to May 28, 2014, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for those periods;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective May 20, 2014;

(b) appoints the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective May 20, 2014;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective May 23, 2014; and

(d) appoints the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective May 23, 2014;

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective May 26, 2014;

(f) appoints the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective May 26, 2014;

(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Joel E. Fichaud as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective May 29, 2014; and

(h) appoints the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective May 29, 2014.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald, juge en chef de la Nouvelle-Écosse, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 20 au 22 mai 2014 et du 26 au 28 mai 2014 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour ces périodes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 20 mai 2014;

b) nomme l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 20 mai 2014;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 23 mai 2014;

d) nomme l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 23 mai 2014.

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 26 mai 2014;

f) nomme l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 26 mai 2014;

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Joel E. Fichaud au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 29 mai 2014;

h) nomme l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 29 mai 2014.
