                     Whereas in the opinion of the Governor in Council it is necessary for the preservation of public health in Canada that the schedule to the Quarantine Act be amended to include Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS);

                     Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Health, pursuant to subsection 21(2) of the Quarantine Act, hereby amends the schedule to that Act by adding, in alphabetical order, the following expression:

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)

          Syndrome respiratoire aigu sévère (SRAS).

                     Attendu que la gouverneure en conseil estime nécessaire à la protection de la santé publique au Canada de modifier l’annexe de la Loi sur la quarantaine en y ajoutant le syndrome respiratoire aigu sévère (SRAS),

                     À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Santé et en vertu du paragraphe 21(2) de la Loi sur la quarantaine, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil modifie l’annexe de cette loi par adjonction, selon l’ordre alphabétique, de ce qui suit :

Syndrome respiratoire aigu sévère (SRAS)

          Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
