Whereas section 6 of the International Bridges and Tunnels Act provides that no person shall construct or alter an international bridge or tunnel without the approval of the Governor in Council;

Whereas the Canada Border Service Agency is proposing to implement a new interim customs facility in Cornwall to serve the Seaway International Bridge system linking Cornwall, Ontario to Massena, New York including the implementation of an operational interim facility, which will include modular units and full primary inspection lanes, and the implementation of a new interim facility;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to subsection 8(1) of the International Bridges and Tunnels Act, approves the proposed construction and alteration of the Seaway International Bridge system in relation to the implementation of a new interim customs facility in Cornwall.

Attendu que l’article 6 de la Loi sur les ponts et tunnels internationaux prévoit que nul ne peut, sans l’agrément du gouverneur en conseil, construire ou modifier un pont ou tunnel international;

Attendu que l’Agence des services frontaliers du Canada se propose de mettre en place une nouvelle installation douanière provisoire à Cornwall pour desservir le système du Pont international de la voie maritime reliant Cornwall (Ontario) à Massena (New York) qui comprend notamment la mise en place d’une installation opérationnelle provisoire pour le pont d’entrée de Cornwall, incluant des unités modulaires et des voies d’inspection primaires, et la mise en place d’une nouvelle installation provisoire,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre des Transports et en vertu du paragraphe 8(1) de la Loi sur les ponts et tunnels internationaux, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil agrée le projet de construction et de modification du système du Pont international de la voie maritime lié à la mise en place d’une nouvelle installation douanière provisoire à Cornwall.
