Whereas the Honourable Thea P. Herman, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered her resignation effective December 31, 2013;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Thea P. Herman ; and

(b) pursuant to subsection 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, grants the Honourable Thea P. Herman an annuity of $135,273.33, commencing on December 31, 2013, and continuing during her life.

Attendu que l’honorable Thea P. Herman, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 31 décembre 2013,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Thea P. Herman;

b) en vertu du paragraphe 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Thea P. Herman, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 135 273,33 $, payable à compter du 31 décembre 2013.
