Whereas the Honourable Alan C. Seaborn, a Judge of the Trial Division of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered his resignation effective December 31, 2013;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Alan C. Seaborn; and

(b) pursuant to subsection 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, grants the Honourable Alan C. Seaborn an annuity of $168,106.67, commencing on December 31, 2013, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Alan C. Seaborn, juge de la Division de première instance de la Cour suprême de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 31 décembre 2013,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Alan C. Seaborn;

b) en vertu du paragraphe 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Alan C. Seaborn, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 168 106,67 $, payable à compter du 31 décembre 2013.
