   Whereas the office of the Librarian and Archivist of Canada is vacant;

   Whereas the Minister of Canadian Heritage had appointed Hervé Déry to act as Librarian and Archivist of Canada, effective May 23, 2013;

   And whereas the term of such appointment shall not exceed six months except with the approval of the Governor in Council;

   Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to subsection 5(2) of the Library and Archives of Canada Act, approves the appointment by the Minister of Canadian Heritage of Hervé Déry of Gatineau, Quebec, to act as Librarian and Archivist of Canada, and fixes his remuneration as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range GC 8 ($192,600 - $226,500), effective November 23, 2013, until such time as a new Librarian and Archivist of Canada is appointed.

   Attendu que le poste de bibliothécaire et archiviste du Canada est vacant;

   Attendu que le ministre du Patrimoine canadien avait désigné Hervé Déry à assurer l’intérim de bibliothécaire et archiviste du Canada, à compter du 23 mai 2013;

   Attendu que la durée de l’intérim est, sauf prorogation approuvée par le gouverneur en conseil, limitée à six mois,

   À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu du paragraphe 5(2) de la Loi sur la Bibliothèque et les Archives du Canada, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil approuve la désignation par la ministre du Patrimoine canadien de Hervé Déry, de Gatineau (Québec), à assurer l’intérim de bibliothécaire et archiviste du Canada, et fixe sa rémunération conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle GC 8 (192 600 $ - 226 500 $), à compter du 23 novembre 2013, jusqu’à ce qu’un nouveau bibliothécaire et archiviste du Canada soit nommé.
