Whereas section 23 of the Navigable Waters Protection Act provides that when it is shown to the satisfaction of the Governor in Council that the public interest would not be injuriously affected thereby, the Governor in Council may, by proclamation, declare any rivers, streams or waters in respect of which section 22 of that Act applies, or any parts thereof, exempt in whole or in part from the operation of that section;
And whereas the Governor in Council is satisfied that the public interest would not be injuriously affected by exempting Lake Pignac and Lake B, located in Quebec, from the operation of section 22 of the Navigable Waters Protection Act;
Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to section 23 of the Navigable Waters Protection Act, directs that a proclamation do issue declaring that Lake Pignac and Lake B, located in Quebec, are exempt from the operation of section 22 of that Act.
Attendu que l’article 23 de la Loi sur la protection des eaux navigables prévoit que, dans les cas où on le convainc que l’intérêt public n’en souffrira pas, le gouverneur en conseil peut, par proclamation, exempter de l’application de l’article 22 de cette loi des fleuves, rivières, cours d’eau ou autres eaux, en tout ou en partie;
