   The Committee of the Privy Council has had before it a report from the Right Honourable Stephen Joseph Harper, the Prime Minister, stating that by Commission dated the 28^th day of

January, 2008, the Honourable John Carnell Crosbie, P.C., O.C., Q.C., was appointed Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador; and

   That the said Honourable John Carnell Crosbie, P.C., O.C., Q.C., made and subscribed the Oaths of Allegiance and Office prescribed by section 61 of the Constitution Act, 1867 and assumed the duties of the said office on the 4^th day of February, 2008.

   The Committee, therefore, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, advises that a Commission under the Great Seal of Canada do issue appointing Frank F. Fagan, C.M., of St. John’s, in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, to be Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and that, from the date on which the said Frank F. Fagan, C.M., makes and subscribes the Oaths of Allegiance and Office prescribed by section 61 of the Constitution Act, 1867, the Commission issued hereunder shall supersede the Commission appointing the Honourable John Carnell Crosbie, P.C., O.C., Q.C., to be Lieutenant Governor of the said Province.

   Le très honorable Stephen Joseph Harper, premier ministre, avait présenté au Comité du Conseil privé un rapport déclarant que l'honorable John Carnell Crosbie, c.p., o.c., c.r., était nommé lieutenant-gouverneur de la province de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, en vertu d’une commission datée du 28 janvier 2008;

   Que ledit honorable John Carnell Crosbie, c.p., o.c., c.r.,

a prêté et souscrit les serments d'allégeance et d'office prévus à

l'article 61 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867 et a assumé les fonctions de cette charge le 4 février 2008.

   À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre, le Comité recommande qu'une commission sous le grand sceau du Canada soit émise nommant Frank F. Fagan, c.m., de St. John’s

(Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador), lieutenant-gouverneur de la province de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, et ce, à compter de la date à laquelle ledit Frank F. Fagan, c.m., prêtera et souscrira les serments d'allégeance et d'office prévus à l'article 61 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, la Commission émise en vertu de la présente remplacera celle qui nommait l'honorable John Carnell Crosbie, c.p., o.c., c.r., au poste de lieutenant-gouverneur de ladite province.
