Whereas the Honourable Richard J. Scott, Chief Justice of Manitoba, who has continued in judicial office for at least fifteen years, has tendered his resignation effective March 1, 2013, and as of this date his combined age and number of years in judicial office is not less than eighty;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Richard J. Scott; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(a) of the Judges Act, grants the Honourable Richard J. Scott an annuity of $210,600, commencing on March 1, 2013, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Richard J. Scott, juge en chef du Manitoba, après avoir exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins quinze ans, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 1^er mars 2013, et que, à cette date, le chiffre obtenu par l’addition de son âge et du nombre d’années d’exercice est d’au moins quatre-vingts,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Richard J. Scott;

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)a) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Richard J. Scott, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 210 600 $, payable à compter du 1^er mars 2013.
