Whereas the governing body of each of the First Nations listed in the schedule imposes a tax that is in accordance with Part 1 of the First Nations Goods and Services Tax Act;

Whereas the Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Government of Canada and with the approval of the Governor in Council, has entered into a bilateral administration agreement in respect of such a tax with each of these First Nations, each of them acting through its authorized body;

Whereas each of these administration agreements provides that a report signed by the Auditor General and concerning the determination of amounts as provided in the administration agreement, be provided to each First Nation;

And whereas section 11 of the Auditor General Act provides that the Auditor General may, if in his opinion such an assignment does not interfere with his primary responsibilities and if the Governor in Council so requests, inquire and report in respect of the financial affairs of Canada or public property;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 11 of the Auditor General Act, requests that the Auditor General inquire into and report annually on the determination of amounts as provided in each of the administration agreements with the First Nations listed in the schedule.
