Whereas the Administrator of the Government of New Brunswick, the Honourable Ernest Drapeau, Chief Justice of New Brunswick, will be unable to act from November 12 to November 22, 2012, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for that period;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Ernest Drapeau as Administrator of the Government of New Brunswick, effective November 12, 2012;

(b) appoints the Honourable Mary Jane Richards to be Administrator of the Government of New Brunswick, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective November 12, 2012;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Mary Jane Richards as Administrator of the Government of New Brunswick, effective November 23, 2012; and

(d) appoints the Honourable Ernest Drapeau to be Administrator of the Government of New Brunswick, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective November 23, 2012.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick, l’honorable Ernest Drapeau, juge en chef du Nouveau-Brunswick, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 12 au 22 novembre 2012 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour cette période,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Ernest Drapeau au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick, avec prise d’effet le 12 novembre 2012;

b) nomme l’honorable Mary Jane Richards à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick afin qu’elle remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Nouveau-Brunswick durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 12 novembre 2012;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Mary Jane Richards au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick, avec prise d’effet le 23 novembre 2012;

d) nomme l’honorable Ernest Drapeau à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Nouveau-Brunswick durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 23 novembre 2012.
