Whereas the Honourable David M. Steinberg, a Judge of the Family Court branch of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario, will attain the age of seventy-five years on November 21, 2012, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable David M. Steinberg has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, grants an annuity of $192,066.66 to the Honourable David M. Steinberg, commencing on November 21, 2012, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable David M. Steinberg, juge de la section de la famille de la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 21 novembre 2012 et que, en conséquence, il cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable David M. Steinberg a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde à l’honorable David M. Steinberg, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 192 066,66 $, payable à compter du 21 novembre 2012.
