Whereas the Honourable W. Vaughan Hembroff, a Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, will attain the age of seventy-five years on May 9, 2012, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable W. Vaughan Hembroff has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $187,400 to the Honourable W. Vaughan Hembroff, commencing on May 9, 2012, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable W. Vaughan Hembroff, juge de la Cour du Banc de la Reine de l’Alberta, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 9 mai 2012 et que, en conséquence, il cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable W. Vaughan Hembroff a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde à l’honorable W. Vaughan Hembroff, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 187 400 $, payable à compter du 9 mai 2012.
