Whereas the Honourable W.J. Lloyd Brennan, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario, who has continued in judicial office for at least fifteen years, has tendered his resignation effective February 1, 2012, and as of this date his combined age and number of years in judicial office is not less than eighty;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, hereby

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable W.J. Lloyd Brennan; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(a) of the Judges Act, grants the Honourable W.J. Lloyd Brennan an annuity of $187,400 commencing on February 1, 2012, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable W.J. Lloyd Brennan, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario, après avoir exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins quinze ans, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 1^er février 2012, et que, à cette date, le chiffre obtenu par l’addition de son âge et du nombre d’années d’exercice est d’au moins quatre-vingts,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable W.J. Lloyd Brennan;

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)a) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable W.J. Lloyd Brennan, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 187 400 $, payable à compter du 1^er février 2012.
