Whereas subsection 300(2) of the Federal Accountability Act provides that subsection 262(2) of that Act comes into force, in accordance with subsection 114(4) of the Canada Pension Plan, on a day to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council;

And whereas, in accordance with subsection 114(4) of the Canada Pension Plan, the lieutenant governor in council of each of at least two thirds of the included provinces, as defined in subsection 114(1) of that Act, having in the aggregate not less than two thirds of the population of all of the included provinces, has signified the consent of that province to the amendment contemplated by subsection 262(2) of the Federal Accountability Act;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance and the President of the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 300(2) of the Federal Accountability Act, chapter 9 of the Statutes of Canada, 2006, hereby fixes December 31, 2011 as the day on which subsection 262(2) of that Act comes into force.

Attendu que le paragraphe 300(2) de la Loi fédérale sur la responsabilité prévoit que le paragraphe 262(2) de cette loi entre en vigueur, en conformité avec le paragraphe 114(4) du Régime de pensions du Canada, à la date fixée par décret;

Attendu que, en conformité avec le paragraphe 114(4) du Régime de pensions du Canada, les lieutenants-gouverneurs en conseil d’au moins les deux tiers des provinces incluses, au sens du paragraphe 114(1) de cette loi, comptant au total les deux tiers au moins de la population de toutes les provinces incluses, ont signifié le consentement de leur province respective à la modification envisagée par le paragraphe 262(2) de la Loi fédérale sur la responsabilité,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre des Finances et le président du Conseil du Trésor et en vertu du paragraphe 300(2) de la Loi fédérale sur la responsabilité, chapitre 9 des Lois du Canada (2006), Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil fixe au 31 décembre 2011 la date d’entrée en vigueur du paragraphe 262(2) de cette loi.
