Whereas the Honourable Eric A. Bowie, a Judge of the Tax Court of Canada, will attain the age of seventy-five years on November 12, 2011, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable Eric A. Bowie has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $187,400 to the Honourable Eric A. Bowie, commencing on November 12, 2011, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Eric A. Bowie, juge de la Cour canadienne de l’impôt, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 12 novembre 2011 et que, en conséquence, il cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable Eric A. Bowie a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde à l’honorable Eric A. Bowie, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 187 400 $, payable à compter du 12 novembre 2011.
