Whereas the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (“the Agreement”) was ratified, given effect and declared valid by subsection 4(1) of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement Act;

Whereas Article 2.13.1 of the Agreement provides that the Agreement may be amended with the consent of Her Majesty, as represented by the Governor in Council, and the Inuit, as represented by the Tunngavik Federation of Nunavut, which has assigned all of its rights and obligations pursuant to the Agreement to the Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated;

And whereas the proposed amendments to the Agreement set out in the annexed schedule were consented to by the Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated by resolution RSB 11-04-06;

Therefore His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, pursuant to article 2.13.1 of the Agreement, hereby consents to the proposed amendments to the Agreement set out in the annexed schedule, on behalf of Her Majesty in right of Canada.

Attendu que l’Accord sur les revendications territoriales du Nunavut (« l’Accord ») a été ratifié, mis en vigueur et déclaré valide par le paragraphe 4(1) de la Loi concernant l’Accord sur les revendications territoriales du Nunavut;

Attendu que l’article 2.13.1 de l’Accord prévoit que celui-ci peut être modifié avec le consentement de Sa Majesté, représentée par le gouverneur en conseil, et des Inuit, représentés par la Fédération Tunngavik du Nunavut, laquelle a cédé tous ses droits et ses obligations découlant de l’Accord à la Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated;

Attendu que la Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated a, par la résolution RSB 11-04-06, consenti aux modifications proposées à l’Accord énoncées à l’annexe ci-jointe,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien et en vertu de l’article 2.13.1 de l’Accord, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil consent aux modifications proposées à l’Accord énoncées à l’annexe ci-jointe, au nom de Sa Majesté du chef du Canada.
