     His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Industry, pursuant to section 4 of the Patent Act and section 63 of the Trade-marks Act, hereby:

 (a)  appoints Sylvain Laporte of Gatineau, Quebec, to be Commissioner of Patents, to hold office during pleasure, for a term of five years;

 (b)  appoints Sylvain Laporte to be Registrar of Trade-marks to hold office during pleasure for a term of five years; and

 (c)  fixes his salary as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range GCQ 6 ($165,400 - $194,700);

effective April 16, 2011.

     Sur recommandation du ministre de l’Industrie et en vertu de l’article 4 de la Loi sur les brevets et de l’article 63 de la Loi sur les marques de commerce, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

 a)  nomme Sylvain Laporte, de Gatineau (Québec), commissaire aux brevets, à titre amovible, pour un mandat de cinq ans;

 b)  nomme Sylvain Laporte, registraire des marques de commerce, à titre amovible, pour un mandat de cinq ans;

 c)  fixe son traitement conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle GCQ 6 (165 400 $ - 194 700 $);

à compter du 16 avril 2011.
