Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, the Honourable Michael MacDonald, Chief Justice of Nova Scotia, will be unable to act from January 4 to January 12, 2011, inclusive, and on January 14, 2011, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for those periods;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867, hereby

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective January 4, 2011;

(b) appoints the Honourable Jamie W.S. Saunders to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective January 4, 2011;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Jamie W.S. Saunders as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective January 13, 2011;

(d) appoints the Honourable Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective January 13, 2011;

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective January 14, 2011;

(f) appoints the Honourable Jamie W.S. Saunders to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective January 14, 2011;

(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Jamie W.S. Saunders as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective January 15, 2011; and

(h) appoints the Honourable Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective January 15, 2011.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, l’honorable Michael MacDonald, juge en chef de la Nouvelle-Écosse, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 4 janvier au 12 janvier 2011 et le 14 janvier 2011 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour ces périodes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 4 janvier 2011;

b) nomme l’honorable Jamie W.S. Saunders à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 4 janvier 2011;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Jamie W.S. Saunders au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 13 janvier 2011;

d) nomme l’honorable Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 13 janvier 2011;

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 14 janvier 2011;

f) nomme l’honorable Jamie W.S. Saunders à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 14 janvier 2011;

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Jamie W.S. Saunders au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 15 janvier 2011;

h) nomme l’honorable Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 15 janvier 2011.
