Whereas an agreement between Her Majesty in right of Canada and The Canadian Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association (hereinafter “the Association”), was entered into on February 20, 1988;

And whereas it is necessary to replace clause 15 of the agreement in order to reflect the change of name of the entity or person to whom termination notice should be given and to allow the Association and the Minister of Transport to designate, from time to time, a person or entity to whom termination notice should be given;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to section 3 of the Marine and Aviation War Risks Act, chapter W-3, Revised Statutes of Canada, 1970, hereby approves the amendments, made in accordance with the annexed draft amending agreement, to the agreement made on February 20, 1988, between Her Majesty in right of Canada and the Association, effective on the signing of the amending agreement by the Minister of Transport or the Minister’s delegate.

Attendu que Sa Majesté du chef du Canada et la Canadian Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association (ci-après « l’Association » ) ont conclu un contrat le 20 février 1988;

Attendu qu’il est nécessaire de remplacer la clause 15 du contrat afin de refléter le changement du nom du destinataire de l’avis de résiliation et de permettre à l’Association et au ministre des Transports de désigner, au besoin, le destinataire de l’avis de résiliation,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre des Transports et en vertu de l’article 3 de la Loi sur les risques de guerre en matière d’assurance maritime et aérienne, chapitre W-3, Statuts révisés du Canada de 1970, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil approuve la modification apportée, conformément au projet de contrat de modification ci-joint, au contrat conclu le 20 février 1988 entre Sa Majesté du chef du Canada et l’Association, avec prise d’effet au moment de la signature du contrat de modification par le ministre des Transports ou son délégué.
