Whereas the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau, a Puisne Judge of the Court of Appeal of Quebec, who has continued in judicial office for at least fifteen years, has tendered his resignation effective August 30, 2010, and as of this date his combined age and number of years in judicial office is not less than eighty;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, hereby

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(a) of the Judges Act, grants him an annuity of $180,933.33 commencing on August 30, 2010, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau, juge de la Cour d’appel du Québec, après avoir exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins quinze ans, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 30 août 2010, et que, à cette date, le chiffre obtenu par l’addition de son âge et du nombre d’années d’exercice est d’au moins quatre-vingts,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau;

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)a) de la Loi sur les juges, lui accorde, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 180 933,33 $, payable à compter du 30 août 2010.
