Whereas the Honourable Anne-Marie Trahan, a Puisne Judge of the Superior Court of Quebec, who has continued in judicial office for at least fifteen years, has tendered her resignation effective July 31, 2010, and as of this date her combined age and number of years in judicial office is not less than eighty;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, hereby

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Anne-Marie Trahan; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(a) of the Judges Act, grants her an annuity of $180,933.33 commencing on July 31, 2010, and continuing during her life.

Attendu que l’honorable Anne-Marie Trahan, juge de la Cour supérieure du Québec, après avoir exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins quinze ans, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 31 juillet 2010, et que, à cette date, le chiffre obtenu par l’addition de son âge et du nombre d’années d’exercice est d’au moins quatre-vingts,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Anne-Marie Trahan;

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)a) de la Loi sur les juges, lui accorde, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 180 933,33 $, payable à compter du 31 juillet 2010.
