                 Whereas the Honourable A. William Maloney, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice, in the Province of Ontario, will attain the age of seventy-five years on May 12, 2003, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

                 And whereas Mr. Justice Maloney has held judicial office for at least ten years;

                 Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $144,400 to the Honourable A. William Maloney, commencing on May 12, 2003, and continuing thenceforth during his life.

                 Attendu que l’honorable A. William Maloney, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 12 mai 2003 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

                 Attendu que le juge Maloney a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

                 À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable A. William Maloney, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 144 400 $, payable à compter du 12 mai 2003.
