Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, the Honourable Joseph Michael MacDonald, Chief Justice of Nova Scotia, will be unable to act from June 3 to June 4, 2010, inclusive, and on June 29, 2010, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for those periods;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867, hereby

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Joseph Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective June 3, 2010;

(b) appoints the Honourable Nancy J. Bateman to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective June 3, 2010;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Nancy J. Bateman as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective June 5, 2010;

(d) appoints the Honourable Joseph Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective June 5, 2010;

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Joseph Michael MacDonald as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective June 29, 2010;

(f) appoints the Honourable Nancy J. Bateman to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective June 29, 2010;

(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Nancy J. Bateman as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective June 30, 2010; and

(h) appoints the Honourable Joseph Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective June 30, 2010.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, l’honorable Joseph Michael MacDonald, juge en chef de la Nouvelle-Écosse, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 3 juin au 4 juin 2010 et le 29 juin 2010 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour ces périodes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Joseph Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 3 juin 2010;

b) nomme l’honorable Nancy J. Bateman à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’elle remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 3 juin 2010;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Nancy J. Bateman au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 5 juin 2010;

d) nomme l’honorable Joseph Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 5 juin 2010;

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Joseph Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 29 juin 2010;

f) nomme l’honorable Nancy J. Bateman à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’elle remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 29 juin 2010;

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Nancy J. Bateman au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 30 juin 2010;

h) nomme l’honorable Joseph Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 30 juin 2010.
