Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that collection of the following debts is unreasonable and not in the public interest, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 23(2.1) of the Financial Administration Act, hereby remits

(a) any amount owing to Her Majesty in right of Canada as a result of overpayments to Saskatchewan participants in the Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization program with respect to the 2003 program year that were caused by an administrative error in calculating the structural adjustment to be applied in relation to forage crops; and

(b) any amount owing to Her Majesty in right of Canada as a result of overpayments to Saskatchewan participants in the Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization Inventory Transition Initiative that were caused by the error referred to in paragraph (a).

Sur recommandation du ministre de l’Agriculture et de l’Agroalimentaire et du Conseil du Trésor et en vertu du paragraphe 23(2.1) de la Loi sur la gestion des finances publiques, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil, estimant que le recouvrement des dettes ci-après serait déraisonnable et contraire à l’intérêt public, fait remise de :

a) toute somme due à Sa Majesté du chef du Canada à la suite du trop-perçu versé à des participants de la Saskatchewan dans le cadre du Programme canadien de stabilisation du revenu agricole pour l’année de programme 2003, lorsque le trop-perçu résulte d’une erreur administrative dans le calcul de l’ajustement structurel à appliquer aux cultures fourragères;

b) toute somme due à Sa Majesté du chef du Canada à la suite d’un trop-perçu versé à des participants de la Saskatchewan dans le cadre de l’Initiative de transition pour l’évaluation des stocks du Programme canadien de stabilisation du revenu agricole, lorsque le trop-perçu résulte de l’erreur mentionnée à l’alinéa a).
