                      Her Excellency the Governor General in Council,

on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to subsection 8(4) of An Act to implement conventions between Canada and New Zealand and Canada and Australia for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to income tax (the “Act”), chapter 56 of the Statutes of Canada, 1980-81-82-83, hereby directs that a proclamation do issue giving notice that the annexed supplementary convention entitled Protocol amending the Convention between Canada and Australia for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income, which alters and adds to the Convention set out in Schedule II to the Act, came into force on December 18, 2002.

                      Sur recommandation du ministre des Finances et en vertu du paragraphe 8(4) de la Loi de mise en oeuvre des conventions conclues entre le Canada et la Nouvelle-Zélande et le Canada et l’Australie, tendant à éviter les doubles impositions en matière d’impôt sur le revenu, chapitre 56 des Statuts du Canada de 1980-81-82-83, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil ordonne que soit prise une proclamation donnant avis que la convention complémentaire ci-après intitulée Protocole modifiant la Convention entre le Canada et l’Australie en vue d’éviter les doubles impositions et de prévenir l’évasion fiscale en matière d’impôts sur le revenu, qui modifie, notamment par adjonction, la convention figurant à l’annexe II de cette loi, est entrée en vigueur le 18 décembre 2002.
