Whereas, pursuant to subsection 154(1) of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act, a copy of the proposed Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Drilling and Production Regulations, substantially in the annexed form, was published in the Canada Gazette, Part I on April 18, 2009 and interested persons were given an opportunity to make representations to the Minister of Natural Resources with respect to the proposed Regulations;

And whereas, pursuant to section 6 of that Act, the Minister of Natural Resources has consulted the Provincial Minister with respect to the proposed Regulations and the latter has given his approval for the making of those Regulations;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources, pursuant to subsection 153(1) of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act, hereby makes the annexed Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Drilling and Production Regulations.

Attendu que, conformément au paragraphe 154(1) de la Loi de mise en œuvre de l’Accord Canada — Nouvelle-Écosse sur les hydrocarbures extracôtiers, le projet de règlement intitulé Règlement sur le forage et la production pour hydrocarbures dans la zone extracôtière de la Nouvelle-Écosse, conforme en substance au texte ci-après, a été publié dans la Gazette du Canada Partie I, le 18 avril 2009 et que les intéressés ont ainsi eu la possibilité de présenter leurs observations à cet égard à la ministre des Ressources naturelles;

Attendu que, conformément à l’article 6 de cette loi, la ministre des Ressources naturelles a consulté son homologue provincial sur ce projet de règlement et que ce dernier a donné son approbation à la prise du règlement,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre des Ressources naturelles et en vertu du paragraphe 153(1) de la Loi de mise en œuvre de l’Accord Canada — Nouvelle-Écosse sur les hydrocarbures extracôtiers, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil prend le Règlement sur le forage et la production relatifs aux hydrocarbures dans la zone extracôtière de la Nouvelle-Écosse, ci-après.
