Whereas, pursuant to subsection 11(3) of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, a copy of the proposed Regulations Amending the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (Standard 216 — Roof Crush Resistance and Standard 220 — Rollover Protection), substantially in the form set out in the annexed Regulations, was published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on March 22, 2008 and a reasonable opportunity was afforded to interested persons to make representations to the Minister of Transport with respect to the proposed Regulations;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to section 5 and subsection 11(1) of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, hereby makes the annexed Regulations Amending the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (Standard 216 — Roof Crush Resistance and Standard 220 — Rollover Protection).

Attendu que, conformément au paragraphe 11(3) de la Loi sur la sécurité automobile, le projet de règlement intitulé Règlement modifiant le Règlement sur la sécurité des véhicules automobiles (norme 216 — résistance du toit à l’écrasement et norme 220 — protection contre les tonneaux), conforme en substance au texte ci-après, a été publié dans la Gazette du Canada Partie I le 22 mars 2008 et que les intéressés ont ainsi eu la possibilité de présenter leurs observations à cet égard au ministre des Transports,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre des Transports et en vertu de l’article 5 et du paragraphe 11(1) de la Loi sur la sécurité automobile, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil prend le Règlement modifiant le Règlement sur la sécurité des véhicules automobiles (norme 216 — résistance du toit à l’écrasement et norme 220 — protection contre les tonneaux), ci-après.
