     The Committee of the Privy Council, on the recommendation of the President of the Privy Council, pursuant to section 128 of the Constitution Act, 1867, advises that a Commission under the Great Seal of Canada do issue authorizing Gary William O’Brien, Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of the Parliaments, to administer the Oath of Allegiance contained in the Fifth Schedule to that Act to every person called to be a member of the Senate of Canada, and to receive the Declaration of Qualification contained in that Schedule, effective September 16, 2009.

     Sur recommandation de la présidente du Conseil privé et en vertu de l’article 128 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, le Comité du Conseil privé recommande que soit émise une commission, revêtue du Grand Sceau du Canada, autorisant, à compter du 16 septembre 2009, Gary William O’Brien, greffier du Sénat et greffier des Parlements, à recevoir de toute personne appelée à devenir membre du Sénat du Canada le Serment d’allégeance et la Déclaration des qualifications exigées, lesquels figurent à la cinquième annexe de cette loi.
