   Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby

 (a) pursuant to paragraph 2(a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act, transfers from the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development to the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency the control and supervision of the portion of the federal public administration in the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development known as the Northern Economic Development Branch; and

 (b) orders that the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development shall preside over the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency,

effective August 18, 2009.

   Sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

 a) en vertu de l’alinéa 2a) de la Loi sur les restructurations et les transferts d’attributions dans l’administration publique, transfère du ministère des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien à l’Agence canadienne de développement économique du Nord la responsabilité à l’égard du secteur de l’administration publique fédérale connu sous le nom de Direction générale du développement économique du Nord;

 b) place l’Agence canadienne de développement économique du Nord sous l’autorité du ministre des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien.

Ces mesures prennent effet le 18 août 2009.
