Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Quebec, the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau, Judge of the Quebec Court of Appeal, will be unable to act from March 31 to April 2, 2009, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for that period;
Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867, hereby
(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau as Administrator of the Government of Quebec, effective March 31, 2009;
(b) appoints the Honourable Jacques Delisle to be Administrator of the Government of Quebec, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective March 31, 2009;
(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Jacques Delisle as Administrator of the Government of Quebec, effective April 3, 2009; and
(d) appoints the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau to be Administrator of the Government of Quebec, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective April 3, 2009.
Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau, juge à la Cour d’appel du Québec, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 31 mars au 2 avril 2009, inclusivement, et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour cette période,
À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :
a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, avec prise d’effet le 31 mars 2009;
b) nomme l’honorable Jacques Delisle à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Québec durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 31 mars 2009;
c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Jacques Delisle au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, avec prise d’effet le 3 avril 2009;
d) nomme l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Québec durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 3 avril 2009.
