Attendu que l'honorable Rita Bédard, juge de la Cour supérieure du Québec, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 14 avril 2009,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l'honorable Rita Bédard;

b) en vertu du paragraphe 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, lui accorde, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 120 177,78 $, payable à compter du 14 avril 2009.

Whereas the Honourable Rita Bédard, a Puisne Judge of the Superior Court of Quebec, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered her resignation effective April 14, 2009;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, hereby

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Rita Bédard; and

(b) pursuant to subsection 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, hereby grants her an annuity of $120,177.78, commencing on April 14, 2009, and continuing during her life.
