                     Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to section 7 of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Act, hereby appoints V. Peter Harder of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, to hold office during pleasure, and fixes his salary at the rate set out in the schedule hereto, which salary is within the range ($197,200 - $232,000), effective June 2, 2003.

                     Sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu de l’article 7 de la Loi sur le ministère des Affaires étrangères et du Commerce international, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil nomme V. Peter Harder, d’Ottawa (Ontario), au poste de sous-ministre des Affaires étrangères, à titre amovible, et fixe son traitement conformément à l'annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l'échelle (197 200 $ - 232 000 $), à compter du 2 juin 2003.
