                     Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby:

          (a)      pursuant to the Special Appointment Regulations, No. 2003-2, appoints Marc Lafrenière of Gatineau, Quebec, to be Deputy Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, to hold office during pleasure;

          (b)      pursuant to paragraph (b) of the definition of “deputy head” in subsection 2(1) of the Public Service Employment Act, designates Marc Lafrenière, Deputy Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, as the deputy head of that Agency for the purposes of that Act; and

          (c)      fixes his salary and other employment conditions as set out in the schedule hereto, which salary is within the range ($176,000 - $207,100);

effective April 14, 2003.

                     Sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

          a)       en vertu du Règlement n° 2003-2 portant affectation spéciale, nomme Marc Lafrenière, de Gatineau (Québec), au poste de sous-ministre de l’Agence de développement économique du Canada pour les régions du Québec, à titre amovible;

          b)       en vertu de l’alinéa b) de la définition de « administrateur général », au paragraphe 2(1) de la Loi sur l’emploi dans la fonction publique, désigne Marc Lafrenière, sous-ministre de l’Agence de développement économique du Canada pour les régions du Québec, à titre d’administrateur général de l’Agence pour l’application de cette loi;

          c)       fixe son traitement et autres conditions d’emploi conformément à l'annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l'échelle (176 000 $ - 207 100 $);

à compter du 14 avril 2003.
