Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Treasury Board, and pursuant to subsection 12(5) of the Farm Income Protection Act, hereby

(a) amends

(i) Order in Council P.C. 2007-1716 of November 2, 2007, amended by Order in Council P.C. 2008-386 of February 28, 2008, by replacing the reference to “$580.1 million” with a reference to “$571.1 million”,

(ii) Order in Council P.C. 2007-537 of April 5, 2007 by replacing the reference to “$401 million” with a reference to “$410 million”, and

(iii) Order in Council P.C. 2006-515 of June 8, 2006 by replacing the reference to “$900 million” with the reference to “$914.6 million”; and

(b) authorizes the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food

(i) to enter into amending agreements with the Government of the province of Quebec to amend

 (A) the agreement authorized by Order in Council P.C. 2007-1608 of October 25, 2007,
(B) the agreement authorized by Order in Council P.C. 2007-448 of March 29, 2007, and
(C) the agreement authorized by Order in Council P.C. 2006-1047 of September 22, 2006, and

(ii) to enter into amending agreements with each of the governments of the provinces of Alberta, Ontario and Prince Edward Island to amend the agreements authorized by Order in Council P.C. 2006-517 of June 8, 2006,

for the purpose of extending the operation of those agreements to a date not later than March 31, 2010 and to adjust any dates specified in those agreements in a manner consistent with that purpose.

Sur recommandation du ministre de l’Agriculture et de l’Agroalimentaire et du Conseil du Trésor et en vertu du paragraphe 12(5) de la Loi sur la protection du revenu agricole, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) modifie :

(i) le décret C.P. 2007-1716 du 2 novembre 2007, modifié par le décret C.P. 2008-386 du 28 février 2008, en remplaçant la mention « 580,1 millions de dollars » par la mention « 571,1 millions de dollars »,

(ii) le décret C.P. 2007-537 du 5 avril 2007, en remplaçant la mention « 401 millions de dollars » par la mention « 410 millions de dollars »,

(iii) le décret C.P. 2006-515 du 8 juin 2006, en remplaçant la mention « 900 millions de dollars » par la mention « 914,6 millions de dollars »;

 b) autorise le ministre de l’Agriculture et de l’Agroalimentaire :

 (i) à conclure avec le gouvernement de la province de Québec, des accords modificateurs qui modifient :

 (A) l’accord autorisé par le décret C.P. 2007-1608 du 25 octobre 2007,
(B) l’accord autorisé par le décret C.P. 2007-448 du 29 mars 2007,
(C) l’accord autorisé par le décret C.P. 2006-1047 du 22 septembre 2006,

 (ii) à conclure avec chacun des gouvernements des provinces d’Alberta, d’Ontario et de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard des accords modificateurs qui modifient les accords autorisés par le décret C.P. 2006-517 du 8 juin 2006.

Ces mesures sont prises pour prolonger la période d’application de ces accords au plus tard jusqu’au 31 mars 2010 et pour modifier les dates prescrites dans ceux-ci en conséquence.
