Attendu que l'honorable Louise Otis, juge de la Cour d’appel du Québec, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 8 avril 2009,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l'honorable

Louise Otis;

b) en vertu de l'alinéa 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, lui accorde, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 140 801,93 $, payable à compter du 8 avril 2009.

Whereas the Honourable Louise Otis, a Puisne Judge of the Court of Appeal of Quebec, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered her resignation effective April 8, 2009;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, hereby:

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Louise Otis; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, hereby grants her an annuity of $140,801.93, commencing on April 8, 2009 and continuing during her life.
