Whereas the Honourable David H. Vickers,

a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, who has continued

in judicial office for at least fifteen years, has tendered his resignation effective January 1, 2009 and, as of this date, his combined age and number of years in judicial office is not less than eighty;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General

in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, hereby:

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable David H. Vickers; and

(b)   pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(a) of the Judges Act, grants him

an annuity of $173,333.33 commencing on January 1, 2009 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l'honorable David H. Vickers,

juge de la Cour suprême de la Colombie-Britannique, après avoir

exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins quinze ans, a donné

sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 1^er janvier 2009, et que, à cette date,

le chiffre obtenu par l’addition de son âge et du nombre d’années d’exercice est d’au moins quatre-vingt,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l'honorable David H. Vickers;

b) en vertu de l'alinéa 42(1)a) de la Loi sur les juges, lui accorde,

à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 173 333,33 $, payable

à compter du 1^er janvier 2009.
