Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to sections 6.4 and 6.5 of the Royal Canadian Mint Act, hereby

 

(a) authorizes the issue of a twenty‑five cent circulation coin, the characteristics of which shall be as specified in item 4.1 of Part 2 of the schedule to that Act and the diameter of which shall be 23.88 mm; and

 

(b) determines the design of that coin to be as follows, namely,

 

(i) the obverse impression shall depict the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the initials “SB” on the bottom left‑hand corner of the neckline, the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II”, “CANADA” and “D·G·REGINA” to the left, top and right of the design, respectively, and the Mint Mark below the neckline, and

 

(ii) the reverse impression shall depict a design of a coloured poppy blossom against a maple leaf above a ribbon with the words “REMEMBER” and “SOUVENIR”, the artist’s initials “CS” at the bottom right of the design, the words “25 cents” within the top half of the maple leaf above the poppy blossom and the words “1918 ARMISTICE 2008” at the top of the coin.

Sur recommandation du ministre des Transports et en vertu des articles 6.4 et 6.5 de la Loi sur la Monnaie royale canadienne, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

 

a) autorise l’émission d’une pièce de monnaie de circulation de vingt‑cinq cents dont les caractéristiques sont précisées à l’article 4.1 de la partie 2 de l’annexe de cette loi et dont le diamètre est de 23,88 mm;

 

b) fixe le dessin de cette pièce de la manière suivante :

 

(i) à l’avers sont gravées l’effigie de Sa Majesté la Reine Elizabeth II réalisée par Susanna Blunt, les initiales « SB » sur la ligne de démarcation du cou, dans le coin inférieur gauche, les inscriptions « ELIZABETH II », « CANADA » et « D·G·REGINA » respectivement à gauche, en haut et à droite de l’effigie et la marque de la Monnaie sous l’effigie,

 

(ii) au revers sont gravés le motif d’un coquelicot coloré se détachant sur une feuille d’érable et un ruban portant les mots « REMEMBER » et « SOUVENIR », les initiales de l’artiste, « CS », dans la partie inférieure droite du motif, l’inscription « 25 cents » dans la partie supérieure de la feuille d’érable, au‑dessus du coquelicot, et l’inscription « 1918 ARMISTICE 2008 » dans la partie supérieure de la pièce.
