                        Whereas the Administrator of the Government of

Nova Scotia, the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald, Chief Justice of Nova Scotia, will be unable to act on August 18 and August 19, 2008, and on August 21 and August 22, 2008, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for those periods;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867, hereby

 

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald

as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective August 18, 2008;

 

(b) appoints the Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective August 18, 2008;

 

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective August 20, 2008;

 

(d) appoints the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective August 20, 2008;

 

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald

as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective August 21, 2008;

 

(f) appoints the Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective August 21, 2008;

 


(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell

as Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, effective August 23, 2008; and

 

(h) appoints the Honourable J. Michael MacDonald to be Administrator of the Government of Nova Scotia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective August 23, 2008.


 

                        Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald, juge en chef de la Nouvelle-Écosse, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 18 août au 19 août 2008, inclusivement, et du 21 août au 22 août 2008, inclusivement, et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour ces périodes,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

 

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 18 août 2008;

 

b) nomme l’honorable Thomas A. Cromwell à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 18 août 2008;

 

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Thomas A. Cromwell au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 20 août 2008;

 

d) nomme l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 20 août 2008;

 

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 21 août 2008;

 


f) nomme l’honorable Thomas A. Cromwell à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 21 août 2008;

 

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Thomas A. Cromwell au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse, avec prise d’effet le 23 août 2008;

 

h) nomme l’honorable J. Michael MacDonald à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Nouvelle-Écosse afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Nouvelle-Écosse durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 23 août 2008.
