Whereas the office of the Commissioner of Lobbying is vacant;

 

And whereas subsection 4.1(4) of the Lobbyists Registration Act, provides that if the office of the Commissioner of Lobbying is vacant, the Governor in Council may appoint any qualified person to hold that office in the interim for a term not exceeding six months;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to subsection 4.1(4) of the Lobbyists Registration Act, hereby appoints Karen Shepherd of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Commissioner of Lobbying on an interim basis, for a term not exceeding six months or until such time as the Commissioner of Lobbying is appointed, whichever is earlier, and fixes her remuneration and other employment conditions as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range ($160,600 ‑ $188,900), effective July 2, 2008.

Attendu que le paragraphe 4.1(4) de la Loi sur l’enregistrement des lobbyistes prévoit que, durant la vacance du poste du commissaire au lobbying, le gouverneur en conseil peut confier l’intérim à toute personne compétente, pour un mandat maximal de six mois;

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu du paragraphe 4.1(4) de la Loi sur l’enregistrement des lobbyistes, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil confie à Karen Shepherd, d’Ottawa (Ontario), l’intérim du poste du commissaire au lobbying, pour un mandat maximal de six mois ou jusqu’à ce que le commissaire au lobbying soit nommé, selon la première de ces éventualités, et fixe sa rémunération et autres conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, laquelle rémunération se situe dans l’échelle (166 600 $ ‑ 188 900 $), à compter du 2 juillet 2008.
