Whereas the Honourable Erik S. Lefsrud, a Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on August 25, 2008, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas the Honourable Erik S. Lefsrud has held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to  paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $173,333.33 to the Honourable Erik S. Lefsrud, commencing on      August 25, 2008 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l'honorable Erik S. Lefsrud, juge de la   Cour du Banc de la Reine de l’Alberta, atteindra l'âge de soixante‑quinze ans le 25 août 2008 et, en conséquence, cessera d'occuper sa charge à cette date en vertu de l'article 99 de la            Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que l’honorable Erik S. Lefsrud a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l'alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges,          Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l'honorable Erik S. Lefsrud, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 173 333,33 $, payable à compter du 25 août 2008.
