Whereas the Honourable Donald G.H. Bowman, Chief Justice of the Tax Court of Canada, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on July 14, 2008, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas the Honourable Donald G.H. Bowman has held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $184,133.33 to the Honourable Donald G.H. Bowman, commencing on July 14, 2008 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Donald G.H. Bowman, juge en chef de la Cour canadienne de l’impôt, atteindra l’âge de soixante‑quinze ans le 14 juillet 2008 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper sa charge à cette date en vertu de l'article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que l’honorable Donald G.H. Bowman a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges,              Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable Donald G.H. Bowman, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 184 133,33 $, payable à compter du 14 juillet 2008.
