Whereas the Gwich’in Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement (“the Gwich’in Agreement”) was approved, given effect and declared valid by subsection 4(1) by the Gwich’in Land Claim Settlement Act;
Whereas 3.1.27 of the Gwich’in Agreement provides that the Gwich’in Agreement may be amended with the consent of government, as represented by the Governor in Council, and the Gwich’in, as represented by the Gwich’in Tribal Council, in accordance with the Gwich’in Agreement;
Whereas the proposed amendments to the Gwich’in Agreement set out in the annexed schedule were consented to by the Gwich’in Tribal Council on November 15, 2006 in accordance with 3.1.27 of the Gwich’in Agreement;
Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, pursuant to section 6 of the Gwich’in Land Claim Settlement Act and 3.1.27 of the Gwich’in Agreement, consents to the amendments to the Gwich’in Agreement set out in the annexed schedule.
Attendu que l’Entente sur la revendication territoriale globale des Gwich’in (l’Entente) a été approuvée, mise en vigueur et déclarée valide par le paragraphe 4(1) de la Loi sur le règlement de la revendication territoriale des Gwich’in;
Attendu que l’article 3.1.27 de l’Entente prévoit que celle-ci peut être modifiée avec le consentement du gouvernement, représenté par le gouverneur en conseil, et celui des Gwich’in, représenté par le Conseil tribal des Gwich’in, conformément aux dispositions de l’Entente;
Attendu que le Conseil tribal des Gwich’in a consenti, le 15 novembre 2006, aux modifications proposées à l’Entente figurant à l’annexe ci-jointe, conformément à l’article 3.1.27 de l’Entente,
À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre des Affaires indiennes et du Nord canadien et en vertu de l’article 6 de la Loi sur le règlement de la revendication territoriale des Gwich’in et de l’article 3.1.27 de l’Entente, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil consent aux modifications figurant à l’annexe ci-jointe.

CAPITAL DISTRIBUTION
Distributing to participants, within the first 25 years from the date of settlement legislation, capital up to a maximum amount per participant, expressed in dollars, equal to the product of 3,541 and the quotient obtained when the latest available monthly value of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) at the time of distribution is made is divided by the CPI in respect of April 1991.

DISTRIBUTION DE CAPITAUX
Distribuer aux participants, dans les 25 années suivant la date de la loi de mise en oeuvre, des capitaux jusqu’à concurrence d’un montant maximum par participant exprimé en dollars, égal au produit de 3 541 par le quotient obtenu par division de la valeur mensuelle la plus récente de l’indice des prix à la consommation (IPC) au moment de la distribution, par l’IPC d’avril 1991.
