Whereas, pursuant to section 84 of the Official Languages Act, the President of the Treasury Board has sought the views of members of the English and French linguistic minority communities and members of the public generally on the proposed Regulations Amending the Official Languages (Communications with and Services to the Public) Regulations;

 

Whereas, pursuant to section 85 of that Act, the President of the Treasury Board has laid a draft of the proposed Regulations before the House of Commons on May 17, 2006, which date was at least thirty days before a copy of the proposed Regulations was published in the Canada Gazette under section 86 of that Act;

 

And whereas, pursuant to section 86 of that Act, a copy of the proposed Regulations, in the annexed form, was published in the Canada Gazette on October 7, 2006, which date was at least thirty days before the proposed effective date, and a reasonable opportunity was afforded to interested persons to make representations to the President of the Treasury Board with respect to the proposed Regulations;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the President of the Treasury Board, pursuant to section 32 of the Official Languages Act, hereby makes the annexed Regulations Amending the Official Languages (Communications with and Services to the Public) Regulations.

Attendu que, conformément à l’article 84 de la Loi sur les langues officielles, le président du Conseil du Trésor a consulté les minorités francophones et anglophones ainsi que le grand public sur le projet de règlement intitulé Règlement modifiant le Règlement sur les langues officielles _ communications avec le public et prestation des services;

 

Attendu que, conformément à l’article 85 de cette loi, le président du Conseil du Trésor a déposé un avant-projet du règlement à la Chambre des communes le 17 mai 2006, soit au moins trente jours avant la publication du projet de règlement dans la Gazette du Canada au titre de l’article 86 de cette loi;

 

Attendu que, conformément à l’article 86 de cette loi, le projet de règlement, conforme au texte ci-après, a été publié dans la Gazette du Canada le 7 octobre 2006, soit au moins trente jours avant la date prévue pour l’entrée en vigueur du règlement, et que les intéressés ont eu la possibilité de présenter au président du Conseil du Trésor leurs observations à cet égard,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du président du Conseil du Trésor et en vertu de l’article 32 de la Loi sur les langues officielles, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil prend le Règlement modifiant le Règlement sur les langues officielles _ communications avec le public et prestation des services, ci-après.
