Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby

 

(a) pursuant to sections 5 and 12 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act, appoints William J.S. Elliott, Q.C., of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, to hold office during pleasure, and fixes his salary and other conditions of employment as set out in the schedule hereto, which salary is within the range ($199,700 – $234,900), effective July 16, 2007; and

 

(b) pursuant to paragraph 6(3)(b) of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act, authorizes the issue of a Commission under the Great Seal of Canada to William J.S. Elliott, Q.C.

Sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

 

a) en vertu des articles 5 et 12 de la Loi sur la Gendarmerie royale du Canada, nomme William J.S. Elliott, c.r., d’Ottawa (Ontario), au poste de commissaire de la Gendarmerie royale du Canada, à titre amovible, et fixe son traitement et autres conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci‑jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle (199 700 $ – 234 900 $), à compter du 16 juillet 2007;

 

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 6(3)b) de la Loi sur la Gendarmerie royale du Canada, autorise l’émission d’une commission sous le grand sceau à William J.S. Elliott, c.r.
