Whereas the office of Ethics Commissioner is vacant;

 

And whereas subsection 72.02(2) of the Parliament of Canada Act, provides that if the office of Ethics Commissioner is vacant, the Governor in Council may appoint any qualified person to hold that office in the interim for a term not exceeding six months;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to subsection 72.02(2) and section 72.03 of the Parliament of Canada Act, hereby appoints Robert F. Benson of Ottawa, Ontario, to hold the office in the interim, for a term ending April 30, 2007, and fixes his remuneration and other employment conditions as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range ($166,100 ‑ $194,400), effective April 2, 2007.

Attendu que le poste de commissaire à l’éthique est vacant;

 

Attendu que le paragraphe 72.02(2) de la Loi sur le Parlement du Canada, prévoit que, durant la vacance du poste de commissaire à l’éthique, le gouverneur en conseil peut confier l’intérim à toute personne compétente, pour un mandat maximal de six mois;

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu du paragraphe 72.02(2) et de l’article 72.03 de la Loi sur le Parlement du Canada, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil confie à Robert F. Benson, d’Ottawa (Ontario), l’intérim, pour un mandat se terminant le 30 avril 2007, et fixe sa rémunération et autres conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle (166 100 $ ‑ 194 400 $), à compter du 2 avril 2007.
