Whereas the Honourable Guy A. Richard, a Judge of the Court of Queen=s Bench of New Brunswick, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on June 5, 2007, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas the Honourable Guy A. Richard has held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) and subsection 43(1) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $178,800 to the Honourable Guy A. Richard, commencing on June 5, 2007 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l=honorable Guy A. Richard, juge de la Cour du Banc de la Reine du Nouveau-Brunswick, atteindra l=âge de soixante-quinze ans le 5 juin 2007 et, en conséquence, cessera d=occuper sa charge à cette date en application de l=article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que l=honorable Guy A. Richard a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l=alinéa 42(1)d) et du paragraphe 43(1) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l=honorable Guy A. Richard, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 178 800 $, payable à compter du 5 juin 2007.
