Whereas the Honourable Gerald O. Jewers, a Judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Manitoba, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on May 19, 2007, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas the Honourable Gerald O. Jewers has held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $163,133.33 to the Honourable Gerald O. Jewers, commencing on May 19, 2007 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Gerald O. Jewers, juge de la Cour du Banc de la Reine du Manitoba, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 19 mai 2007 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper sa charge à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que l’honorable Gerald O. Jewers a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable Gerald O. Jewers, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 163 133,33 $, à compter du 19 mai 2007.
